Hello, I have a 1990 Mazda b2200 fuel injected. It was idling in the driveway like normal, then it just died. I tried starting it up and it just wouldn't catch. I was spraying starting fluid thru it and it would start for about 2 seconds and die again. I looked at the fuel pump line and its pumping plenty of gas. all fuses are good it has gas, I don't know what it is.. please help. Thank you so much.

If it starts on starting fluid the problem is fuel. Check your fuel pressure at the rail, you may have volume but not enough pressure.

or you could have clogged injectors from something that made it past your fuel filters ( it happens) and you could also have purchased watered down gas, idk about the rest of the areas but here even some of the big name gas stations have water in their tanks, they just refuse to clean them out until no one comes in, my sister worked at one here for 5 years and they finally got shutdown for the owners lack of cleaning water from the gas holding tanks. but just something to watch out for, even running no ethanol ( on some engines not saying is the case idk sorry i) can cause engines to run odd, or running ethanol in the gas, finding a place that sells 100% gasoline no ethanol maybe try that idk on these engines that paerticuliar part sorry just tossing you ideas buddy.

This happened to me when my mass airflow sensor (MAF) died, or if the intake tube pops off of the throttle body area.

- Check the intake tube, make sure everything is tight and connected, no rips or holes in the tube, etc.

- (disconnect the battery) unplug the mass airflow sensor and try to clean the connector with some electrical cleaner. Possible corrosion in there.

- Replace the MAF if need be.

MAF will kill the motor if it is not reading properly. If you are short on time just unplug and plug it in a few times to see if it is corrosion. It's worth a try.

Hope this helps.
