Is there a possibility of putting a head gasket on wrong?

The reason why I say this is because I can see part of the head gasket on the drivers side which is shaped the same way as the passenger side!

There is a dye you can put in your coolant to check for carbon.

I took the head off and sent it to the shop. Got it back cranked it up and No Smoke but if you raise the idle it smokes.

No lost of Coolant and it holds 15 lbs of pressure. I did not run a compression again, yet.

It idles fine, could it be burning rich?

Probably ring(s) sticking....

I am suspecting it too. I didn't run any other tests as yet. I'm sure its not cylinder head because I sent it to a shop I have supported since 1990's.
