my NOx levels were like 5000 when they allow 1700.... I've read a lot on how to fix this but i guess Im just going to relist this truck on craigslist and hopefully break even. Its a beautiful truck with almost zero body damage and i was really hoping to build it up... if anyone is interested I'm only asking $1000.... I might just fix it up I'm just frustrated with it...
My truck failed 4 times, did everything - O2 sensor, cat, replaced the carb with a good one, tried the stupid chemicals, everything. And this was all on my mechanics labour since the truck was there. Ended up being a corroded contact on the computer in the passenger foot well. Spent over a grand on parts and labour for this. I would start there. Especially if your truck is rusty cause they tend to rot out in the inner wheel wells right near the comp.
thanks a lot bro, ill check that, I got someone who will pass it no matter what but i gotta shell out $150. I might end up doing that, but emissions are in effect to save our planet so It really makes me want to get it to pass.
i'm hate emission laws, mostly because i always have older slightly worn vehicles... i wouldnt drive something that is noticeably blowing out smoke, but you know... here's an interesting tidbit of info:
Sorry to hear about that bro here in S. Fla. we dont have inspections/emissions. Try a fresh oil change and check your cats also.
That would be so nice to not have to do emissions, flipping cars would be a lot easier more profitable lol. anyway the Cat is new but I think i need to clean the EGR valve because my NOx was through the roof, I just bought 5qts of synthetic oil and a filter. Im using 10w-30 cause someone told me a heavier weight will help with NOx. If i dont pass on the retest im just going to rip out the torsion bars and leaf springs so they can't get it up on the rollers lol
