I put the crankshaft and pistons in my 2.0 with timing belt tonight, after I installed the rear main seal I went to install the oil pump and noticed there is only a small gasket for the pickup tube. Looked in the oil pump box and in my complete gasket kit and found no gasket to go between the oil pump and the front of the block. Is there no gasket other than the oil pan gasket on the bottom, seems as though it would leak without one. Confused in NC

I made one for mine, but mazda says its not required, just use small amount of silicone

Sorry, forgot to reply earlier. Thanks! I kinda figured it out after searching auto parts stores for oil pump gasket. Nuthin. I used Permatex Aviation Form a Gasket. Again thank you. Here is where I am at so far, gonna change the timing dust cover to green, white didn't work for me. I'll post my results with pics in a separate post.

Hope you used the "O" ring seal

I have asked everyone else, what is the little black resister with one black wire
going to + side if coil ?

is it a condenser / noise resister or what ?

does it have anything to do with me not getting fire ?
