mine is pretty flush if i remember correctly. honestly you wont really see until you get the lower arm on there and see how far it needs to come up and how much you are taking out of the arm. i would leave it flush though. what ever you take out of the lower try to brace back in so it stays strong.

yeah I plan on fitting a piece of metal to fit the hole caused by the cutting I just did and weld it in to secure that back up, and then when I cut the LCA I was going to secure that up too... not sure how yet, but I'm sure I'll figure out a clean looking way to do it.

I did mess up one of my measurements, on the picture but had calculated it correctly....

This is what I used to get my notch size:

R axle + R tire + .50" = Required axle clearance.
Frame over axle - Frame under cab = Height of rear frame above axle L/O
Required axle clearance - Height of frame above axle L/O = Notch size

So mine was...

1.5 + 12 + 2(buffer) = 15.5 (Required axle clearance)
9.5 - 0 (see picture... the 8.5 should have been 9.5) = 9.5 (height of rear frame above axle L/O)
15.5 - 9.5 = 6 (notch size)

and seance the frame above the axle is 4 inches thick, if I put the bottom of the notch 2 inches above the top of the frame, wouldn't that be a 6 inch notch?

maybe I'm looking at it wrong...let me know thanks

YES your right but most think of the notch from under the frame up and when you say 2 inches they think 2 not 2+the frame. Were on the same page now just different way of thinkgin about it.
