Nice, I have never seen a GSL-SE in person so I did not know that. My wife will now hate you for telling me that information. I guess I now know what is next for me! -ed

Nice! while its out you should clean it up, port it and paint it . Porting the rotary's are a snap and you gain some pretty good numbers too. Just don't go too big or your engine will be all used up in no time. GL though its looking great.

I love those engines . There is a guy here in tacoma that has like 100 rx7s from the 80s but wont sell anything jsut yet. so i am thinking of doing this too.

Sorry guys had to go visit family up north. Keeping the stock location of the trannsmission mount is starting to be a pain. The engine sits so far back, and low....

I don't know about the earlier trucks, but on my 89 the tranny X-member has 2 bolt holes and the frame has 3 allowing you to slide the x-member up about 1.5" into the front 2 holes on the frame and in turn shoving your motor forward a little. I also would caution you when setting the height up. I put my engine lower to allow the clutch slave room, but now am lifting it 1/4" to stop from dragging off my drain plug. Can't wait to see that baby in there. Keep the pics a rollin. -Ed

The pre 84's only have 4 bolts. 2 on the rubber mount, 1 on each side holding it in. Very easy to get to.

I would have moved the tranny mount closer, instead of cutting so much into the firewall. How's that going to go with the tranny tunnel and what not?

Yeah, It started out as a really small hole and grew from there. I've pulled the engine in and out of the truck so many times I think my hoist is giving way. Like I said knowing now, I too would have moved the assembly forward.. But I can always BS people and say I wanted to seat the engine back as far as possible for better weight distribution.... also another good reason for not being able to install the blower fan and such back into the truck. Better pics tommorrow with nicer camera.
