I never liked the bubbliness of the 4wd stuff. The 20s rubbed one side of the bed because the rearend was off-center. I figured since I had to rewrld it I may as well swap the rear like I always wanted to

See i never liked the 4wd metal but its starting to grow on me. Possibly because 4wd sheetmetal is impossible to come by locally

The engine seems like I blew a head gasket so its parked for now. I've been mocking up my rear disc brakes nut im a few steps away before I had planned on sharing the pics of it. Unfortunately I wont be at camp and drag

So here's where I am with my rear disc brakes. The swap consists of 96 Toyota Tacoma 4wd front rotors, Mazda front calipers, and a custom bracket i got from Johnny waugh. The first problem I ran into right off the bat is that it placed my calipers too close to the frame.

Plus it looks retarded having the rotor and the spacer behind the wheel. My first solution to the problem was to have the wheel spacers machined down to fit inside of the rotors. This will hide the spacer and place the rotor and caliper an inch away from the frame.

And here's a a shot with the bracket installed. It uses 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the axle on.

And here's it mocked up with the caliper in place. Ignore the washers, they are temporary to see how thick I need to cut my spacers

I like it!!!
But... why not mount the bracket to the other side of the flange on the housing, and ditch the spacers?
