Well, I removed the shell today to see if I could get it closer to paint...

...and I found some cracks that go all the way through and severly weaken the shell. (You can rock it about three inches each way) now I don't know if it is repairable, at least not by myself. I am going to take it to the local boat guy to see what he thinks.

I am really debating whether or not to do the Ranger lights. I have a set that I bought for the roadster, so I might just try it and see how it feels.

Sorry about the dark, grainy photos. I thought about taking pictures about 9pm...That always turns out well right?

The shell is fiberglass right? You'd think you could just lay new fiberglass and resin down on the inside and outside of those cracks then smooth it all out? I have no idea though, I've never worked with fiberglass. lol I hope you can save it. That's the sicest shell I've ever seen on a Mazda!

If you're really die-hard about your 90's look for her I vote not to do the Ranger lights. Save them for the raodster which you bought them for. I like their look, but it would go against your theme/goal for her.

save the shell...take it to the boat guy..have him fix it THEN take it to the welding shop and have a small tube frame made for it on the inside so it takes the shell and makes it stronger and holds it straight...something around 1 inch tubeing

For the 90's look, and to be "different" go with Escort headlights
