I would say a 16 gauge sheetmetal would be good, my truck is somewhere around a 5" bd, sfbd and traditional. With a 302 in there, I had to do a 2.5" cowl hood. There are some pics in my construction thread on here.

so 16 gauge should be good enough thats cool. i aint really got to do much work lately i have a 94 ranger with a 4-5 static drop with a junk tranny in it. I bought another totaled ranger and have been tearing it apart so i can fix my truck and also put air conditioning in my truck. Im hoping next week i can get back to work and get some pics up.LaTa

just my 2cents but i would ditch the 4wd frame and suspension and find a 2wd frame and swap um. They are totally diff and u will have to do a crap load of work to get a 4wd maz to lay out or find a cheap 2wd w/ a blown motor and swap yours and the 4wd metal just a thought. good luck!

i think it would be badass to have an all wheel drive dawg with a nice engine swap.

i would like to find a 2wd frame thats why i have been holding out on doing much here lately. I have checked the local trader magazine and a couple junk yards that will actually sell u a frame and come up empty. But i would like to find a good cheap frame with the front suspension around here it would be awesome. if anyone has any ideas or has one close to mt vernon Ill let me know....LaTa
