Hey guys. I am getting the itch again to rip this truck apart. I want to tear it down in my side yard to finish up the work on the chassis. It is completly driveable, but I always was going to do the full show treatment to the truck. So the plans are 1) strip the truck 2) have the frame powdercoated 3) polish/ chrome everything that unbolts and everything else paint candy purple....I am just scared that It will never drive again, or I will run out of money before I am done....shhhh don't tell the wife....LOL

That sounds like a very familiar path your taking LOL. As for driving it again, trust me - you will. I know I did. FYI, don't chrome the front rotors if you plan on keeping the calipers hooked up. They scratch easy and stop like crap.
(whispers) probably best if ya don't tell the wife, at least not until its to late

for sure don't chrome the rotors. they look cool and all, but damn is it a pain in the ass.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Don't worry, I won't chrome my rotors. They are already coated from Wilwood. I might chrome the calipers though. Mostly it will be powder coated underneath and just some minor chrome on the engine. I am thinking the fuel injection, valve cover and the acc. brackets. Everything else will be gloss black, silver or purple to compliment the paint. I have to smog the truck this month in order to re-new my registration. So teardown might start after the new year.

I decided to put this truck in storage again. I don't have the money to do what I want to do to it. Maybe next year I can get back into it.

Thanks Jeremy. Yeah I can't sell it; its like part of my DNA. I've been f'n with this truck for almost 18 years now. It has been with me through countless girlfreinds, a wife, four careers, an apartment and three houses. They will probably bury me in it. LOL
