95 motor in an 87?

well just like it says. my mom has a 95fi b. the bed and rear frame are done for as it was a pool truck so the chemicals wrecked the crap out of the entire back half of the truck. sooooo, she said i can have whatever i want including the engine, harness, ecu so on so fourth. so it would be super sweet to have a new engine, has anyone done this?

The 95 B has a Ford 2.3 liter motor if it a 4 banger and a Ford 3.o or 4.0 liter if it is a V-6.U will have to swap engine and tranny plus get the Ford computer or use a stand alone fuel management system like Megasquirt.U will also have to cobble up a driveshaft if u r going to retain the Maz rear end.Plus I am sure the motor and tranny mounts will have to be fabbed up or modified.Just for starters.Lol.BJ

ok, not too bad, i have the entire truck at my disposal, so the engine tranny, computer, radiator, blinkers what ever i want will come off. does it sound like a good idea?the 2.3 has 112hp and 135ft lbs tq.

no do the swap with the 2.3 then start researching the late 80's for thunderbird turbo coupe. THATS the way to go. we have ran high 11's in a 93 ranger with the stock bottom end doing that swap.
