how did you attach the bottome of the shock to the lower control arm?

I have Scotts Hot Rod front suspension and there is a mount on the lower control arm that we used.

Its a shock bolt on the bottom. i took a piece of 1x1 drilled a hole in it ,welded it to the lower arm.You can get the shock bolt from autozone.
