Driveshaft Lengthen?

so i've been doing a long box extracab build on a B2200 and we are down to lengthening the driveshaft and we are running into some trouble.

Her's the build if you haven't seen it

anyways what's going on is when the back end is lifted up the driveshaft has as much as 2 inches of play moving forward. Hope that makes sense. So when we drop it down to drag height the driveshaft moves back about 2 inches at the very max (more like 1 and a half inches) The driveshaft has the steady bearing as well it's not a 1 piece. I'm not sure why we never figured on this but I have seen no talk about it at all. Basically when it's all bolted in the steadybearing is sliding a bit....

So what should we be doing with this? contractable driveshaft or what?

i have never messed with 2 peice driveshafts but i was thinking don't some of the four wheel drive companys make driveshafts that have a lot of travel for lifted trucks with a lot of suspension travel maybe you could check out something like that. i think on one of the shows on spike they made one out of 2 peices of square tube that slide into each other but i bet that thing would rattle your teeth out.

Well we got the driveshaft figured out. It was the biggest headache on this truck yet. We did a slider in the steady bearing. It travels up to 2 inches.
