hello,
i bought an '89 mazda b2200 with a b2000 engine put in it. i didn't realize the complications this would include.
symtoms:
- engine runs very rough and won't idle unless of course idle is cranked way up.
- mileage is very poor
- when i rev it up and then release the pedel, it wants to die for a second or two
i have replaced the carb with another used original one, and followed all the b2000 vacuum diagrams.
could this be a computer issue? is the engine just not getting along with the 2200 truck computer system? if i put a weber on it, will these issues be resolved?
any ideas would be appreciated,
thanks.
could be the computer but i would say trash the stock carb and get a weber. you will not regret it! it sounds like all your problems are coming from that carb though.
It could also be something a little more simple, like spark plugs and wires.... my 2 pennies..
doubt it is the computer, either a carb or timing issue.....i'd do a good tune up, and set the timing correctly & see if that has any influence, if not, more than likely it is the problematic oem carb.....
well, from all the questions i've asked on many different sites, it sounds like these stalk carbs are a pain in the... i have done a full tune up, including plugs, wires, distibutor cap/router, filters, etc., and set the correct timing already, but it didn't fix the problem.
off to WEBER i go...anyone know where to get a good deal on one? could i find a used one? is the weber K675(32/36 DVEG) the one to get?
thanks for the help.
they have the best prices that i know of other than e-bay, which you get what you pay for.
to answer your q about which one to get, here is a link to a page on their site
with that in mind, i have heard of probs installing the 34 as far as the throttle cable is concerned, but the 32/36 or the 38 are good to go.
keep in mind that if you have to get your vehicle visually inspected, you won't pass......
thank you very much for your help.

time.
hey, thanks for the tips. there is a chance that both carbs are bad because they're both used and old, but if i can get away without spending the $350(CAN) on a weber, it'd be nice to do so for now.
i have taken the truck to a guy who owns 7 of them, it's all he does, and he tried adjusting the carb. he also found many wiring problems. he told me to try the weber.
i guess i'll jump into those wiring diagrams and see what i can find(what fun!) to do with this computer ground.
if i were do go with a weber, would i be free of all the computer crap?
