i know, your getting tired of these threads from a guy that doesn't even own a mazda anymore (yet )
anyways, on the PGT/MX-6 turbo swap, the intake has to be flipped.....i have heard of 2 ways:
1. adaptor....just unbolt, flip, and bolt back on......
2. cut/weld
what would be the pros/cons of each?
would the adaptor be something that i could "relatively" easily build myself with a piece of aluminum and hand tools or would it have to be done by a shop?
i thought of a way to keep it 100% lined up when making the adaptor, so keeping ti lined up for flow wouldn't be a problem....
the cut/weld wouldn't be something i could do myself....i cant weld aluminum, so i could see it getting expensive quickly.....
actually, i just checked on the aluminum for the adaptor and it would be nearly $100 by itself.....maybe it would be cheaper to just get it cut/welded
you would have to take the alum to a machine shop & have them make the plate for you......
so i would be looking at like $250 for the plate?
i could have it cut and welded for less than that
dougy thanks for asking i was kind of curious, im getting a truck soon as well and was thinking about that
no problem....
i'm still debating on it, i really dont want a 5 speed for a daily and i dont think a b series auto could handle the power from a built up PGT engine
