Has anyone bought a cat online before? I was lookin around and found some pretty affrodable ones.

heres some that i found:


the first one says its a direct fit for my truck. so any suggestions?

you can get some magaflow ones for not too expensive. check ebay and stuff like that. are the emisions laws strict up there?

i got mine from importperformanceparts.net it is a pacesetter hi-flo & cost me @$100 shipped. not a direct replacement unit though. just make sure if you buy one from an online place that they are well known for good bussiness, summit, jegs, ipp.net, etc..... the link that you posted has some good prices, esp on the magnaflow units.......

the emissions are pretty strict here in PA.
if i buy a universal cat, and take it to an exhaust place, would they have a problem fitting it up?

nah, they shouldn't, i'd make sure they put in the 3-bolt flanges instead of straight welding it in, that way if you ever have to change it out again, it is an easy unbolt.......

I just put a Magnaflow hi -flow cat on my 2200.Got the 2 1/4 inch inlet/outlet one.Works great,sounds better and truck passed emissions.I believe it was 50 bucks or thereabouts.BJ

well i called up an exhaust guy i know, he said he could do everything for $125. not bad i guess. i just need to get it done now while im home from college, so im going on friday. thanks for your input though guys.
