Hi all !!
I have a vacuum leak between my carb & manifold. I have put in a new gasket but it is still happening.
The mounting surfaces look clean and are not scored.
Is there something I'm missing?
Do I need to add some kind of gasket goo ???
Thx for your input.

Gasket between carb and manifold is about 3/8 inch thick stock. Is replacement the same?U should not have to use sealant on thst gasket as it is designed to compress and seal when torqued. Did u get torque spec for carb bolts and torque accordingly?Do u know where leak is?use a NON-FLAMMABLE aerosol or soapy water and mist around base of carb with engine running.May be able to localize leak this way.BJ

My local mechanic (the one that did the safety on the truck back in April) had a look at it this morning and located the leak. I will be changing both the mounting plate and the gasket between the carb and the manifold this weekend.
Thx for your help.

I will get torque specs for u this evening and post them early in the am if u still need them. Your mechanic may already know them.Hope the new gasket and plate work-keep us posted. BJ

Hell, you should of seen me at my brother's place last week !!!
He has a huge air compressor and a professional grade air wrench !!!
I bought an old skido trailer (8 feet long by 6 feet wide) for $100 and transformed it into a 14 feet long by 6 feet wide Jon boat trailer. I had a great time dissassembling most bolts on the trailer with the air wrench
