anyone ever heard of a ford 4.0 v6 being put in an 86-93 mazda?
i have a complete 93 Explorer 2wd that i am about to part out, and thoguht i might hang onto the drivetrain (engine, auto trans, and 8.8 rearend) for a future project....
truth is, the only reason i dont have a mazda is because i dont want a 5 speed for a daily....and auto mazdas are total dogs....so the explorer drivetrain could be perfect for me....

Anything is possible - as for kits I have not seen any. 4.0 would be a good power to weight ratio and more than likely give you decent mileage too.
You would need to fab mounts for the motor and trans - a concern would be with the size of the auto tranny you may have issues with it in the tunnel.
