Here's the low down. Took the 2.2L and bored it out 20 over, got rid of a/c and egr crap. Running a Redline Carb. and 2.5 in exhaust with a magnaflow convertor, and a 40 series flowmaster. The head has been completely rebuilt from what i am told. I just put new lifters in it because the company I bought it from put rebuilt lifters in it when they rebuilt it. Nocked out all of the resistance in the precatalyst. Everything is new. Now my problem is that I have a ticking noise which to me sounds like the lifters even though i just put all new lifters in. From what I understand is that the rockers are self adjusting. Could be wrong though. Any ideas what the ticking could be caused by???

if the lifters are hydraulic then they will self adjust, if they are the manual ones then they need adjusting.
yeah they are hydraulic but when i change from old worn out lifters to new lifters is there anything that i need to do? any adjustments? i have a feeling that i have a bad lifter. i am running 10w30 should i maybe drop to 5w20? i am getting tired of working on the eng. i want to play with the body and stuff. damn stupid little 2.2L, should of dropped a v8 in her. hahaha.
i haven't ever seen 5w20 oil, but i know 5w30 is thicker & won't help with a sticking lifter, you may just have to pull the valve cover & replace the one thats sticking, or take it out & clean it & put it back in.

yeah i'm stupid i meant 5w30. and yes the stang is mine. it is the next project. before i left for the marine corps it was a show stoppa. but my dad let it sit for the last 6 years and well, i have to go through it again. only this time it is only going to be driven only on sunny sundays. i want to drop a 351 in it. i could go on and on about both the stang and why i am working on my truck now instead of the car but i don't want to bore everyone. haha. i love mini trucks!!!
it's all good bout the oil, that is a killer car thought, the 351 would be sweet esp if you could find a cleveland instead of a windsor to put in it, i sorta like this one that ford did a couple of years ago, i wouldn't mind doing one up like it
sweet ride. i would love to put a clevlend in mine. but they are becoming hard to find these days. i have a lot of plans for it, just waiting on money. haha. i wonder what that 5.0 cammer engine costs? i will have to do some research on that now!
the cammer 5.0 they put in that stang is like $14,000, but it puts out
like 500 hp, 475 tq alum. block & heads, same motor they put in the yellow gt-r concept.i think you can get one that is slightly detuned for @ $10,000.... still an a$$ load of cash for a motor. check around at some of the swap meets @ car shows, you might find a cleveland @ one of those.......
