ok,this recently started happening lastweek.my motor has over 300,000 miles on it.when belts get old or worn out do they squeal a lot.everytime i start my truck the belts squeal and if i start out at a low rpm they squeal again and the only way to make them stop is by flooring it.whats going on here.

NEED TO PULL THE OLD BELTS AND CLEAN YOUR PULLEYS, AND PUT SOME NEW BELTS ON THEM, WHEN THE OLD BELTS START TO SLIP, THE WILL "GLAZE THE PULLEYS" THIS IS WHERE THE SQUEEKING COMES FROM.

FOR AN OLD WIVES TALE, YOU CAN TAKE SOME BAR SOAP AND RUB ON THE BELTS WHILE THE TRUCK IS RUNNING, AND THE SQUEEKING WILL STOP FOR A WHILE, BUT THE OLD BELTS ARE BOUND TO BREAK SOONER OR LATER, BEST TO JUST REPLACE THEM.

bar of soap or good ole' WD-40 but just like NYTRDR24 said your just pushing back the date of changing your belt..better to change them a.s.a.p. at home or w/e rather then it snapping and your shit out of luck..im talking out of experience and it had to be the coldest..windiest (with rain and all) day of the year
