Unless I can find a good motor local,I'm looking to rebuild mine. It runs smooth and purrs like new, but smokes like so many others I've seen.motor is super clean and dosent leak a drop. Guess I need to get off my butt and do a compression test to help determine whats most worn. Comments and suggestions?

you probably just need to take the head off and send it out for a ring job, and valve job while its off, and might as well get new lifters too
should run you in the ball park of 200 with parts and labor

Yea but mazda's sometimes smoke just because of worn out valve seals why do all that work when all u gotta do is replace the valve seals...Do you even no what a valve seal is????

Anyone know the what the compression should be in a healthy cylinder for the 2.2.
