not for nothing and I don't know every little detail of my b2200. but my roommate just bought a 94 GMC sierra and everything was working just fine... then all of a sudden his break lights stopped working... so after about 2 hours, checking all the bulbs and checking every fuse, looking for what might be a bad ground, testing the break light switch behind the pedal, checking his multi switch, searching under the frame for an inline fuse, and then searching for every relay in the truck.... I still cant get the damn break lights to work.... the blinkers are fine, reverse lights are working, running lights are good to go.... BUT NO DAMN BREAK LIGHTS!! anyone have any thoughts???

man i have no clue unless the break light elements have two elements and just the brake element doesnt work.

I thought that too but the hazard lights work and they run off the break element in the bulb.... its so damn frustrating.

If i remember right on those rear lights, You have to unbolt a little plate that pulls out of the back with the bulbs in it right? If so I bet that plate is your problem we have changed a shit load of those at work. I bet i've seen 4-6 trucks with those bad in like 4-5 months.

this is plate that fails, check them for corrosion, loose connections, that kind of stuff. And I have seen both fail on a truck at the same time.

the plate is probably your problem.... they are cheap and available at you local parts store if that tell you how often they go out....

just checked the back panels on the lights like you had mentioned.... perfectly clean.. not a spec of corrosion.... I followed the wires up to the relay box under the dash and then followed the third break light from the light to the relay box... all the wires are good and there is no inline fuses... after looking this god damn piece of shit up on line for most of the morning... I found that it could be either the flasher relay, the break switch (i tested that seems to be working fine) or the mulit-switch (seems to have a good amount of play in it but it still does everything it need to). either way, I've wasted most of my day working on someone elses truck and there not even there helping me out, so I'm going to tell him what I found and leave the rest to him... any other suggestions will be helpful though.... thanks in advance... I'm off to keep working on my b2200 build
