LOL, Nice!

It's amazing how people can put a real "spin" on things when there azz is in hot water. The company I work for (an asbestos abatement company) got the call today to go "contain" the problem created at a local high school after the shop teacher had several students help him remove a few hundred square feet of asbestos floor tile. Evidently one of the students called their parents about what was happening and all hell broke loose THIS MORNING! Not last nite as the above story says. And definitely NOT one ceiling tile as the story says. From what I have learned so far the shop teacher has been fired, the Home Coming game canceled and the Home Coming dance moved to a different location.

Should be an interesting week next week to see what kind of fire storm the parents end up bringing to the local school district. Best guess is the school will be closed for at least a week while the state Department of Public Health decides how best to clean up the mess.

Come on, you guys grew up with asbestos and lead paint and all that good stuff and most of you turned out fine. I say most because Hoc is one of our exceptions to this case.

Finally found out why the Homecoming game was canceled... The uniforms were stored in an adjacent area to the Shop area where the tile was removed so the Dept of Public Health deemed them to be possibly contaminated as well

Now I will be honest with you guys, I've been in this line of work for almost 19 years and I am pretty certain NOTHING was contaminated. But the way the school district "over reacted", then tried to hide the facts is just hilarious to me.

they most always over react when something of this nature occurs. news media always likes to dress the news up a bit... makes you wonder after watching the news channel(s) how much of the news is actually news and not just a story for ratings. i never watch the news because of that.
