i help a few good freinds with there mud a nd sand drag cars dont have any pics of the sand car but it has a 520 cui blown alchohol injected arias motor makes around 2200-2500 hp depending on the tune up and it runs around 40-45lbs of boost lots of fun .
the one in the pic and video is the sand car its a 557 cui fontana motor and its on 55-60lbs of boost and makes about 3500hp. we sucked a intake gaskate so i have a few pics of the motor internals for you pic horrs <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
those intake valves are 2.5"
and a vid we ran a 2.854 sec at 151mph and its a 300' track pulled 3.2 gs from launch to chute oh and burned 5.2 gallons and alchohol is $5 a gallon

its right around $ 60,000 with no clutch, trans, ignition,hell the distributor itself is $1,500 or fuel system ,, oh yea and theres a $5,000 computer data system to check how the motor ran after every run all the way down to how much the cluutch is slipping by the drive line speed vs the crank speed

OH Yeah - looks like a lot of fun! Have had the privilege to be around several top fuel funny cars and dragsters on nitro but have never actually seen sand rail races. Were they all single competitor timed races? Can't imaging trying to see where your going if your running a little behind the leader LOL

no its a two car race but the other guy in his class that day blew the clutch and the other twoo had motor probs
and ther is know in front they all run within hundreths of each other thtas less than the front wheel
