hero??

yesterday while at work me and my crew witnessed a horrible accident. we saw a lose control hit a ditch go airborne then roll about 6-8 times!! i dont know what it was but me and the crew went running toward the car. it was just an elderly ma, or so i thought. the guy was tryin to get out of the car so me and a friend helped him out. he was cut up pretty bad bleeding from nose all over his head, face and arms. there was galss, and debris everywhere!! the car was smoking from the engine and it was filling inside the car. he kept saying wheres my wife, wheres my wife! so me and my friend went inside the car. it was kinda hard getiing through inside the car cuz it was all twisted and glass blood, was everywhere. all the airbags had been deployed so that made it harder as well. we where able to see the lady she was all twisted up in her seat. she had glass and dirt on her face and the airbag was covering her face. so i lifted the airbag off of her and started wiping the glass off. she kept saying her back and legs hurt. i dont know the 1st thing about paramedic stuff but my friend that was in the car with me is a former cop so i let him take the reigns. she kept closing her eyes saying she was tired but my friend told her not to close her eyes and for me to keep talking to her. so i was crawled up in there trying to talk to her. its the hardest thing seeing someone there laying in pain trying to keep them in good spirits. we were able to cut the seatbelt but could not cut the airbag. that is one of the hardest things to cut. so we pinned it up onto the door to keep it off her face. we heard the ambulance pull up and let them take over. i called my wife and told her what happened, she said i was a hero i told her no im not wouldnt you do the same thing?? so when we got back to the office later in the day our bosses called us in to the office. we didnt know what was going on, we figured they were gonna ask how the job went. they asked us what happened about the wreck. we told em what had happened. after they were done they asked me and my friend to stay everyone else to go. we looked at each other and wonder wtf did we do?? so they closed the door and asked what we did. we told what everything. my boss said that the guy had called the office and wanted to thank us. he didnt know our names but he did say the guy with white hair and the lil guy. so obviously it was me being the lil guy i am hahhah and my friend whos got a head full of white hair. the guy and his wife called us heroes!! i told em the same thing i told my wife. what would yall do?? they wanna thank us in person. its just crazy how you do stuff without knowing or thinking. the car was full of debris and smoking yet i jumped inside of it anyway. isnt it human nature to take action like i did or should i have just sat back and watched??

so i ask am i a hero?? what would yall do??

You are def. a hero in my book man. I don't know exactly what i would've done but you did good. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" />

Walk up to you and shake your hand and give you a HUGE pat on the back. Way to be man. I always take a proactive stance on situations like this...I guess having a dad who just happens to be a police officer helps. It just seems like the normal thing to do. But believe it or not man there are a lot of douche bags out there that would have just walked/drove away or stopped to take pics and video for Youtube. Just to make up some fake story. Yes you are a hero to that man and his wife as well as all of thier friends and family. Good job man!!!!
