your thoughts....

just wanted to see what you guys think about this.

im going tomorrow to look at this truckand thinking about pulling the cab/bed/fenders and putting on a s-10 frame i have. s10 has a built 350 and is ready for bags, i think it would look cool as hell personally but alot of guys i work with seem to think it would look better restored. im talking bare minimum work, just put this body on the s-10 frame, leave the body rusty and dirty like it is. as far as driving, its gonna be safe but just look like shit basicaly...lol... somewhat of a ratrod look i suppose you could say.


whats your thoughts?
price wise, it isnt going to cost a whole lot to do. i already have the s10 frame thats running/driving, have bags, 4link, brackets, fittings and airtainks. all i need is valves, notch, swap bodies and wire everything up. i can get the truck for $1000 and all the parts i need for under $1000.

You will have some work ahead of you to do the swap. The trucl you have has a title right. The best thing I read from you is that it will be totally safe to drive just look like an old shit box which to me is cool definitly a rat rod. I would do it just take your time and make sure machanically it is safe as possible because the first time you go for a drive you will be pulled over alot till they get to know you and the truck.

i have the title for the s10 and the guy has the title for the other truck, not sure how it would have to be registered but im positive i can get it done. yeah, im going to make sure it's safe and dependable, i just want it to look old as hell.

it would work, but take your time. but to me, this truck isnt worth $1000. i bought a 1950 chevy in '93 for $1000, and it looked alot better than that one does. no offense mind you, just my opinion

the guy has several trucks he is trying to sell...he had a couple late 40's to early 50's chevys for $800-$1000 dollars, he has a 49 international for $1500 and he has this one which is a 53 international and he was asking $1500 for also but said he would take $1000 cash if i come get it by next weekend. the chevys look to be in way better shape for less money but i have never saw a international truck around my area, thats why it's got my attention a little more than the chevys have.

i was watching a 52 international on ebay the other day in about the same shape as this one is body wise. It had no motor or tranny and interior was gutted. It went for a little over $3000 with no title. I wish i could find one around here for a few hundred bucks but i guess everyone is holding onto them or something cause i cant find nothin for under $800 within 500 miles of me. ive looked and looked for about 2weeks now....ebay, craigslist, local papers, southeast trader papers we get, iwanna.... lol....i know as soon as i buy it tho i'll see the same damn truck on the side of the road for $200 probably...thats just my luck...lol

hell, this chevy is bout 30 miles from me. at 5000 dollars and not bagged, v6 motor...nothing special at all
