Noticed the same thing, I dunno why all these bots are allowed to join, and I also dont know why they havent deleted those posts yet.

how do the bots work its crazy i thought thats why the site was down for so long is to fix the problem

It looks like I'll be recruiting more moderators in the next few weeks.

There are many types of bots out there, MBS has been attacked with a couple in the past month.

The bot that brought down the site you could call a server bot in which it actually hacked into my hosting account and inserted a redirect java script on all of my index pages. As you know index pages are used as the default page when you access a web directory, and also domains.

The second type of bot you can call a forum bot, or spam bot. Basically it is a script someone wrote that searches the internet for forums and posts links, whether be in the profile section or actually making posts that direct people to their website. This is one of the draw backs of using open source forums such as phpbb. It is easy to program a script to act human by registering an email account, using that email to register on a forum, activate the account an even post.

Because of these issues I have been looking at developing our own software using phpbb as a base. Although it is most likely that I'll be going this route, It cannot be done over night. So in the mean time I may have to disable user enabled account activation.

I just wanted to explain a little more about the issues and let you guys know we are working on them.

I think you just need to clear your cookies, then re login and check the remember me check box.

The posts spam bots make won't affect your computer.
