So I took my truck in to Oil Can Henry's Today to get the oil changed it was do in about 100 miles. So I get my truck done start driving home and I start to hear a loud knocking noise and my truck starts to smoke and I mean bad it covered the street in a fog. I pull over right away and pop my hood start checking stuff out and what do I find......NO OIL on the dip stick and no dummy light . So I call a tow truck get it towed home and pop my oil pan plug and what do you know not more then a tablespoon of oil comes out. The idiots didn't put any oil in my truck, they drained the old stuff out and replaced the filter. So now my truck smokes real bad. I called the Lube place up and told them what happened and they told me there was nothing they could do about it because my truck had a slight leak from the Valve cover and that I had tampered with the oil pan plug. So I think I am now ****ed any of you guys have advice on what I should do?
EDIT: If any of you guys go on the S10Forum.com you'll see this post aswell I post on there still even thought my S-Dime is gone
yeah go up there and talk to the owner of the place in person..... if he doesn't do anything about the truck then treaten to sew....
Yeah... a nice quilt should get the job done... J/K with ya man... But seriously, go there in person. You should of had it taken there before you took it home and messed with it. Alot of people arent intimidated over the phone, but when you approach them in person, they start acting different, best of luck bud.
Man,that sucks. They have to be liable for that. You shoudlnt have to doublecheck their work. You should be able to drive out of there knowing the job was done and not have your vehicle blow up half way home.
Thats exactly the reason I do the work on my vehicles myself. Dont trust any of the idiots that work there at all.
same here. i've done everything myself and never taken the truck anywhere. haven't done any major stuff yet but i'm still not gonna take it anywhere. not to mention that it saves you a buttload of money...
they are liable sue the crap out of them thats why they have insurance....you should have had your truck towed directly to them
They are very much so liable and if they do not have insurance that is faulty business practice or what ever you call it.
If anything, go up there, talk to the manager and look and see if they have any cameras on the bays. If so then ask to see the footage from when your truck was being worked on and you should see them not adding any oil.
i used to work at a quik lube. get a lawyer right off the bat. Prepaid Legal is the shit.
than check your receipt, if it doesnt state that ur "valve cover was leaking" their kinda screwed. plus your reciept is kinda like a warranty of their work. their work FAILED. a valve cover laek isnt gonna leak 4 qts on the way home... even if the damn thing was off completly. stick it to em. dont let them get away with it. ive seen lube shops purchase customers completly new engines for F'ups like this one. DONT BACK DOWN.
