I feel your pain !!!
I once spent a week trying to get a hold of the client service reps at MTS to figure out how to get my modem to work again.
When I finally got through (after waiting about 90 minutes on hold), the first thing the guy asks is if I had "power cycled" my modem.
When I said I had no idea what that was, he said it meant turning the modem off, counting to ten, and turning it back on again. Apparently this solves most connection issues.
Needless to say I was pretty pissed off !!!
I spent a week off-line, only to be told to turn the frikkin' thing off and on again.
So, 2 years later, everytime time my connection gets weird, I turn off the modem, count to then and, voilà , connection fixed !!!
