I'm trying to save up for a older style b2000 (courier lookin one).the truck needs a head to fix the stock motor but I don't know much about those I was wondering if it would be worth it to fix that motor or should I get a f2 and put that in it?
Finding a good head might be the hardest part. A F2 wont directly swap in motor mount wise, not really worth it either imo either. 86hp. A miata or protege swap will be more worthwhile.
There's 3 of those trucks in a junkyard near me with complete motors so I could get a head I was just wondering cuz my friend has an f2 layin around
Are the motors the same as the newer style b2000s?iv never had a 2.0 I thought it was weird that the intake and exhaust side are opposite of my 2.2
What year do you have? And what year(s) are you referring to as, "newer?"
My trucks a 89 b2200.I mean newer like after 86 or whenever the bodies changed
Every 2.0 and 2.2 from 86 to 93 (in North America) has the intake on the right side of the engine and the exhaust on the left. Although, I think the 2.0 was discontinued before 1990.
If hes looking for a Courier clone (rather the other way around, Mazda built the Courier for Ford) Hes looking for a 81-84 B2000. The motor used is called an MA and its a 2.0 Mazda motor, last of the chain drives. long stroke torque motor, not a good candidate for hot rodding. Intake on driver side, cross flow head to exhaust on passenger. there is a fed and a CA model, Fed didnt have air pumps until 83 I think, otherwise it was a pulse injection motor with a big tube going into the exhaust manifold from the air cleaner. They are really square body wise. I think they are better looking than the B2200's with their spoke wheels and grills.
Yeah that sounds like it.all I know about the truck is that it looks like a courier and needs a head.mostly trying to figure out if its worth fixing that motor cuz I fun the shit out of everything haha its gotta be able to hold up
