Is there a trick to bleeding brakes with the shared bleeder?

My truck brakes like absolute shit with new pads and rotors. Got underneath to bleed it and was like what the fuck when I first saw the shared bleeder on the driver's rear. Also noticed that the two side lines sit as high as the resavior if not higher on the firewall off the master. Who the hell designed the brakes on these trucks? The resevoir is supposed to be the highest point in the system for ease of bleeding. Anyways, any special tricks? I'm tired of having to pump the brakes to get a (remotely) effective brake.

i personally have a vacuum bleeder that is a one man operation...you can probally get one cheap if its not to fancy. The one i got i paid like $140 for...but it does alot of other stuff too.

Manually adjust the rear brakes, then re-bleed.
Also, if/when you've replaced the master cylinder, you need to match up the push rod free play into the MC to be correct.
