Reference pictures

In memory of my grandpa I'm debating on squirting my truck like or near one of the old naval LST's that my grandpa was on so I'm trying to find some reference picture's of some Naval ship's camo/measure. I'm not quite sure of the exact style, I thought at one point it was considered "rip rap". My grandpa was in the navy between '41 an '46 if I'm right. So if I can get some dirrection or pictures to some good naval camo I would really appreciate it. Also I'm trying to find the period correct navy motto, I'm not sure if this is it "Non sibi sed patriae" (Not self but country) (unofficial) from Wikipedia.
