Alright getting the top end redone on my truck, shop says they cant find a new head for the engine that isn't cracked, so it is up to me. Anyone know where I can find a head thats not cracked for a decent price? I can order online thats not a big deal but I just need something and would like either new or remanufactured.
need more info on your truck. like year, make, model and engine size. depending on what motors in your truck these wil work on 86-93 mazda b2000/b2200
heres for the 2600 models too.
Every B2000 AND B2200 truck head is identical.
It is the same head that came on 8 valve (carbureted) Mazda 626's.
Kia Sportages with a FE-S block in them have the EXACT same head.
In that universe there are lots of choices available in a junkyard.
If you want new, the KIA dealership probably can get you one for about $800.00
Thanks! 87bbucket I am calling the number from the link you gave me tomorrow, if all goes right and they tell me the right things I will be ordering the head as well!
The engine head is almost always closed to prevent the use of very specific torque loading of the bolts. View the details of your shop manual. Tightening the screws down using different loading which can lead to blown gaskets, loosen the bolts, or even the head and valves.
I have a complete 2000 head with cam and valve train if u still need one.Been tanked and checked-no cracks.bj
