oh ya i'm happy! got my new (to me) beast. i'm hoping to make it a daily driver, but it'll take some work to get there. previous owner pulled it out of the junk yard, put another carbed 2.6 in it and drove it for a bit then it blew, and he decided to swap in a 2.8 out of an 84 camaro. the chevy bellhousing has been grafted to the b2600 one... so it retains all b2600 driveline. an extra stub was welded onto the input shaft of the tranny, uses the b2600 clutch plate and flywheel and pressure plate are camaro. it runs decent, it'll have to be re-tuned as the last owner backed off the timing to get it through an etest for me easier. no problem
the real issues, i need to brace up the box floor. it is rotted all around just about, and the box walls have sunk/are movable up and down. it has a plastic liner that'll go back in to cover up the bracing i have planned (just some 12 or 10 gauge metal from a scrap shelf welded to the box sides and i'll add a few more pieces to hold it all together, and then cover up the see through spots. the back of the box around the tails and rollpan need cleaning up, but shouldnt be any holes. other than that the box outside is clean. i have a spare 2wd box i was going to throw on, but i'd rather keep this 4wd box on for rather obvious reasons.
