just drove home from hanging out with some friends and my truck randomly started smoking and then as soon as i noticed the smoke the temp gauge went through the roof. i barely made it home. i popped the hood and shut the engine off as i coasted down my street. not sure exactly what happened. its too dark outside to see much. looks kinda like i blew the hoses off my idle air control valve but i'm not exactly sure. hope i didnt blow a head gasket or crack my head. keep your fingers crossed. gonna check it out in the morning.
should've shut the truck down as soon as it got hot, b2600 motors can blow the head gasket the first time they heat up that bad
i know and i already knew that mine was getting ready to go too. they also crack heads if your not careful. so i'm not excited to look at it tomorrow.
ouch, good luck hoping for the best
getting ready to drive it in to the shop. hopefully this goes well.
Good luck and keep us posted.
so i drove it into the shop today and took a look under the hood and couldnt figure out where all my coolant went so i pressurized the system and coolant started shooting out on of the hoses going to the idle air control valve. i pulled it off and that thing was so brittle. it doesnt surprise me that it cracked and started leaking. so i drove down to work and picked up a hose for almost nothing and got it all put back together. now the thing is running great.
Hopefully this will help you out
