4X4 rearend question

Well with winter drawing near I'm trying to get a few more things done the mazda before putting her in hibernation. Started doing some work to the back end of it, replace wiring, fix gas tank (again), and going to replace u joints, but come to find out the u joints aren't bad, its the rear end going bad. But what my question is, would anyone happen to know if the gear ratio in the 2wd mazda rearend are different from the 4wd? If so what ratio did they go with? Any help would be great, thanks.

all i know is that the 4wd rear end is alot bigger then the 2wd rear end so if your thinking about swapping the gears it can't be done

No I was looking at swaping the whole thing. Would it still fit underneath even if it is bigger?

okay i saw this in another topic and yes they will fit but they are a lower gear ratio for offroading. so intern you will be running higher rpm on the freeway.
