Went out and got a 4runner bumper from a guy on craigslist. Said it fit from 88-94. Went to mock it up and the ends of the bumper stick out about an inch off the fender. Is this normal for these type of bumpers? What kind of bracketry do i need to make it work?

Does your bumper look like the one pictured below on my old truck?

Well yes it does Only the bottom is the plastic valance. Did it look funny walking up to the tire from the back? It seems like it just sticks out to far.

Yeah the toyota bumper is quite a bit wider. I bought toyota to mazda conversion brackets from F.B.I. when I did mine.

I have seen some that looked like they fit right up? Maybe with 4x4 metal it lines up better? Did the fbi brackets bolt right up? Thanks,

The flare of the 4wd fender does make it flow a little better. Yeah the fbi brackets bolt directly to the toyota bumper and to the mazda frame horns.
