ok so im tryin to reindex my torsion bars. but im having trouble and some questions. on the single bolt towards the rear of the truck do i take it completely out? and if so what can help free it up? im using pb blaster. i guess just let it set overnight? thanks and sorry if its in wrong section.
Do you have the front of the truck up and the weight off the front wheels? It shouldn't really be that tight.
i only have one wheel off the ground
That will take the pressure off the bar of the wheel that is off the ground. You should be able to squirt the pb in from the top so it can work down. You could try a little heat to help work it in. Where do you live, is rust a problem?
south texas. umm from what i can see not really any rust. i have the front end off the ground now. ill have to try it tomorrow. im doin it with a breaker bar and every time i turn it it makes noises. like creeks and stuff. sounds bad.
please be careful.I just sent a Tbolt to someone on here that had stripped his out. Also, those things have been known to snap, unwind and hurt folks so be very careful.Take the weight off the front end, soak em and let em sit for awahile and then try to loosen them.BJ
I used straps to keep mine from "popping" loose when the bolt is ready to come out. Yep, they'll creak a lot since they've not been previously adjusted. Make sure you're turning it the right way too lol. Impact wrench works wonders
yea i dont have an impact. i need it realy bad. im gonna soak the bolt again in pb when i wake up .
When you buy one, make sure you get at least 400 ft. lbs. torque from it. I got a 240 ft. lbs. to begin with and it wouldn't even break the lugs off my wheels lol. The 450 I got has no problem at all with any bolt I've put it on. It has been VERY handy dealing with the torsion bolts.
