Fun Times with an astro

Ok, so I was given an astro for the motor, and I need to get it out. I was thinking about just cutting the rad support and pulling the motor out forward instead of the impossible task of removing the body. Its going for scrap after this anyway so I can do all the cutting I want. Anyone pull one of these before?

yup i have pulled man astro motors cut the support if your gonna scrap it

still to much bullshit cut it acroos the top behind the wind sheild and from the dog house out on both sides and the front will fall right off after you remove the core support bolts much much easier and fun it requires power tools

Look at the frame on the bottom about the front of the drivers door. The front sub frame unbolts. Should be able to undo the tranny from the crossmember and roll it out.

I'm a Fire fighters so I play with the jaws of life. Power tools kinda disappoint now.

Ok, So After things changed on me, i get to pull the motor saturday... So does anyone have any wiring diagrams for a 97 astro? I gotta find out what all i need to keep once it passes into the firewall. I hate wiring haha.

Got it out. It ended up being all wheel drive, so I only got the motor. Now I'm on the hunt for a Carburated intake (pre-97) to bolt on to it. Worst case scenario I'll make an adapter plate for the throttle body, and throw a four barrel on there. But if anyone has any leads on an intake on the cheap let me know. Pics to come tonight, once I find my micro SD reader. We used two chain blocks to lift it out.
