am happy to report....

The coolant issue has been eradicated!! Stupid lil hose under the manifold had a tear/pinhole and it was just peeing out my coolant...and since it was spraying right onto a hot block...it was more or less getting evaporated before I could even see it or it hit the ground. So I followed toddzda's advice and last night just sat and watched....and watched...aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnd watched....till I found the tiny lil persistent sucker. And OMFG is that thing a pain in the................you know. But as of this morning...I let it heat up, sat and watched some more...and watched some more...went for a 4 mile quickie cruise....and no loss of coolant, no weird hotter than all holy hell smells from under the hood....no bubbling, no anything...checked my coolant, ruan under pressure and made sure it was completely full before I left....and still completely full after. I replaced a hand full of hoses while I was in there...the vacuum lines from the brake booster were pretty much fried also so those got done.....I still need to do the other one for the coolant side that sneaks under the mani...but I have extra hose so that will be done now also...and my engine will have almost every hose I think replaced. Also got me new tores on today....I wound up having to go to a 195/60r14 cuz they wouldnt allow me to have a 185/60 on there...something about load rates...and they were TRYING to push me into keeping the 205s on there...but I was pretty firm about wanting a smaller size and said simply "its MY money...you want it...figure something out...or I can go elsewheres ya know" The manager guy heard that and he stepped in and and took over on the deal....and I got my way...more or less....and then cuz of the size difference it was gonna be another $40 that I didnt wanna spend...so I was in line to be put on the rack and went back in and said "ya know....I am gonna take it to the other place...just cuz I was quoted that price and now that I am having to get a different size than I originally wanted...and I am having to pay more? I think I will go to the other place" Well you guessed it...I got given the price I wanted in the first place...even though the first guy TRIED to charge me the new price...i was standing right there and said "no...he changed that price if you would READ the notes on there" (the guy ringing me up was giving me all the dirty looks but I was standing my ground) and then top it all off...same guy comes out and says how great it looks with the lower pro tires....WELL DUH!!! LOL!!!

Now I got LOTS extra room to drop even more...which I was planning on doing today...till I discovered I have no vise grips now.....ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Oh well...another days project then. At least I will be able to work tomorrow as planned and get some $$ rolling in the house and keep the lil woman happy!

Ok so I knew a hose or two is under there...but my god is it a pain to change!

thats good you found it. that hose is a little bugger. my last mazda had that one completely blow out when i was driving. its hidden so i didnt see how bad it was.

Hey man, Glad to hear you found the leak before it got any worse. I agree about the hose under the intake, it sure it a tight spot to get to.

OMG was it tight and HOT under there...I suppose I coulda let it cool down more...but one tire shop wanted me there at 2 oclock..and I didnt want to be half assed in on fixing and miss my appt there...and the other had a opening in the morning....but we fought over the pricing...eventually got my way but it took up more time then I wanted to waste...and had to go get the rabbit from the classroom....so I was still kinda in a bind timewise...not as bad...but I sure didnt wanna rush but not not be done either ya know?
