yea i used my press to do mine. im not sure about all b series trucks but mine had a washer style nut on the back side that is tightend down for some load on the bearing with a tang washer behind it, make sure to take that off first if yours is like that. pop the tangs back that are holding it, then took a punch and a hammer to remove the nut. if im not mistaken the nut was left handed thread i may be wrong but i believe it is.

your right mike, then im unable to side off the wheel bearing, i think black has it right with getting it pressed off.

Is it possible to press the bearing further toward the axle flange in order to reduce the free play in the axle? I'm asking because I have a 1985 RX-7 LSD in my axle right now but the piece between the axles in the differential is not as thick as the piece in the open differential, this has created a condition where the axles have to much end play (even though I have removed all the shims)and I think that this has created a leak at the axle ends. I don't really care what this would do to the positioning of the brake drum relative to the backing plate since I hope to put on rear disc brakes eventually and could find a way to shim the backing plate if I had to.
