what is the safest way to take the trim off the front windshield without damaging it ,any help would be great thanks

its so old (like sosa) you prolly wont get it off with out breaking the clips

They are clipped in. If you get a screw driver under there, you can drag it until you hit one of the clips. Once you hit one, get another screw driver and come at it from the other side. Pry both sides. I believe there are 4 on each side and 5 running across the top. Honestly on my truck, I lifted from the bottom and pulled them off. They came right off without damage, no screw drivers, no patience, nothing... just pulled.

Yes, small screw driver to start. The clips are usually quite brittle and snap off easily. I practaced at Pic-a-part before I tried mine. If the clips do break, a lil' black RTV will hold them well.

i just used 2 flat head screw drivers and it took me like 20 minutes to remove it. start with the bottom piece under the wiper cowl and work your way up.
