I have a 98 Acura 3.2TL as my daily and I have had some electrical problems in the past (nothing major). I drove it to work and school yesterday and have every day before that. Last night was chilly (for my town anyway) and dipped into the 20s. It seems like my car has trouble starting when it's good and cold like this. I had a yellow top battery before but it died so i warrantied it and was recommended a red (now 3-4 months old) for my application. Note, i have 1 sub amp and 2 speaker amps in the car. I also had my alternator beefed up by a good shop in town.
When i turned the key all i got was the dead battery sounding CLICK. Could the weather be a factor here?

CCA possibly with battery , but I doubt it with a Optima they should have no problems at all cranking up a small Acura . Now with most fuel injected cars in cold weather you need to turn key into the notch before start and leave for a few seconds before cranking . Do you have a charger ? If so boost it and see if it starts no problem . If it does really only thing is that you're battery is garbage or about to go bad .

I have a little jumper box and a charger, but was also late for work. i'll try giving it a boost when i get home. is there a reason my car is going through these optima batteries so quick?

Bad Grounding possibly which can cause intermittent shorts , You're stereo depending on how powerful it is can destroy them quickly . Optimas are no longer what they used to be thats for sure .
