I was at the local pick an pull today looking for a rear end that is shorter than our rear ends but still keeing the 6 lug. An I believe I came across one that has the same lug pattern and it is 56" wide as opposed to ours that is 58.75" wide. This would allow me to run the wheel I want and keep the six lug. I hope it will work, know for sure in the morning when i go back to get it. It is a 88 Mitsubishi Montero. I'll let you guys know.

good find (maybe)! a guy at work had one that was close to same year. all i rember it was v6 auto 4wd. don't think I ever noticed the lugs.

was at a yard a few weeked ago and found a frame sitting on a limo. It had beefy a arms (top and bottom) on the front, at least 1 1/2" tube, and short 4 link on the back. no idea what it was, had plain 5 lug wheels on it. may go back to check that out with the camera.

Well got back from the yard, measured it and it is 56.12 wide. So this will let me run a 20x8.5 with a 6 inch backspacing and have 1/4 to 1/2 inch clearance with the wheel all the way up in the rear fender at the top body line. SWEET I can't wait to start on the rear!!!!!!!!!! Here are some pics of what the Mits looks like, this is what the rear come out of.

if i remember correctly (don't qoute me on it) the early 90's monteros carried the same wheelbase and also had rear discs...you might be able to get away with swapping on the brackest and have rear discs too..that would be killer!!
