what do you think

i am thinking about picking this up what do yall think and would you pull the motor to put a clutch in or would you pull the tranny?

i was ust looking at it thinking about buying it myself lol. i think the best would be to pull the tranny out. looks like a nice solid truck.

if you do buy it, just drop the driveshaft, and tranny crossmember. unbolt tranny and drop down. clutch is bolted to flywheel. i bought a whole clutch kit at advance for about $120. it comes with an alignment tool to get everything back n place. you also need to pull the shifter and boot fom inside the cab.

don't you have to machine the flywheel whenever you install a new clutch, to ensure they mate up properly. it's just like honing the cylinders of an engine before putting in new piston rings, they need to be machined so they will mesh properly. it's shouldn't cost too much but you will obviously have to remove the flywheel. and engine shop should be able to do it, maybe even a regular machine shop with a big enough lathe. Oh, i guess you might also have to machine the pressure plate to.

What are you waiting for!! Buy the thing. I would be all over that thing if it was in MD. You can't pass up a deal like that.

ya, the flywheel needs to be worked over. it cost me about $30 to get it done.
