ok guys im still goin threw wire's and still cant get my heater working?
i was wondering if there is any way i could take my fan speed switch and give it its own power and just take the wire's straight to my blower motor so it still has the different speeds? has any one done this or know any way of doing.
this is the only thing i have left to do on the truck so it will be drivable. well atleast warm and drivable.
If you have to you could put a switch in and send power directly to the motor. You wouldn't have control over the speed but at least you would have heat.
Have you checked your blower motor resistor? That is the most common problem with any heating controls.

nope not yet. thats my next step. where is it located at exactly??????
and if it comes down to it im goin to just wire it derect to have heat, but is there any way you could put some kind of curcit inbetween it to slow it down any?????
You can wire in a variable speed switch, like the dimmer knobs on your dash lights, but the heating circuit is really easy circuit with little to fail. 1st: Check your fuses(All of them, you would be surprised what can effect other circuits). 2nd: You can test for power and the ground for an open directly at the blower motor itself. If the power is at 12v + with the switch for fan speed all the way up and you have a good ground then you need a blower motor. 3rd: If you have a good ground, but no power you need to check for power to your blower motor resistor. Those are the 2 top failures. If the those don't pan out then pull the control panel for the HVAC and you can hit me up for the wiring diagram. Please don't hack up your wiring just to avoid a learning opportunity ; ) Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
P.S the blower motor resistor is behind the passenger front speaker that is at knee level if you were sitting in you passenger seat. You can see the wires going to it if you look behind the speaker under the dash. Good luck, just take it slow and easy.
I just replaced my blowere motor but it only works on high, is that just the switch that needs replacing?
No, it is definitely the blower motor resistor, I would bet money. They are only $40 and easy to replace.

figured it out.. it was my blower motor. it was locked up switched the other one out of the parts truck and works great just need to throw a theromostat in it and ill be set.
thanks guys aaron.
NICE! Glad you got her figured out.
You say it's behind the passenger speaker. Whats it look like?
