yea u can but make sure that the nuts tightn up good on the pully, and whn u put ur fan on and wire it up use a relay not just a straight switch it'll burn up every time, also make sure that u got the fan blowin the rite way, that will cause it to burn up aswell, and make sure the fan is thight to the radiator or it will beat around and make a whole esp if ur radiator is old.. thats all i can think of rite this sec hope that helps

Yea man your good jus use lock washers on the studs and go get a thermostat to hook the fan to that way u jus hool up to wires and there's no chance to to fuck anything up hook your thermostat to a 12V power source that is a constant hot u don't want it to turn off with the key its job is to kool so even though the truck maybe off its h2o maybe boiling which wouldn be to kool since these old beaters have heat probs anyway. And also u can buy two 10" and stager them ona stock radiator and it kools badass jus DO NOT HOOK 12V POWER TO HOT SIDE OF THE COIL I kno it looks conveniate but its a no no. have fun with it

here is a diagram that should help you figure out how to wire the relay(if needed)
there are 2 switches in the diagram, you only need to use one or the other not both.(one is for a lighted switch, the other is for a non lighted switch.

wire colors are:
red - ignition
yellow - constant 12v
black - ground

i'd recommend connecting to the steering column or an unused fuse in the fuse box. dont connect to your radio wiring.

hope this helps,
