need some help

alright this isnt a mazda question but ill ask anyway, on my 2001 s10 when i put gas in my tank it shuts the pump off like it has a full tank and i know it doesnt, it builds up in the filler neck, i know theres a screen in there but i dont think thats my problem any help is appreciated

I believe the S-10 has a spring with a white plastic piece on top of it at the bottom of the filler neck. Some of the gas pumps are extra sensitive too. I know in CA and OR the pumps are set to shut off at any hint of a gas fume at the top of the filler. You may want to pop your filler hose off of the tank and pop the plate off the top of the spring. The spring will still stop anyone from siphoning any fuel out and that should free up your flow at fill ups. Hope that helps man. Good luck. -ED
