Sold the Mazda today...

It was a rainy day here in the Texas Panhandle. I sat in the driver's seat of the B2200 for the last time that it was mine. The bill of sale had been signed, and I was going over with the new owner some of the quirks that the truck had. These quirks that I have have grown to know and love, quirks only a B owner could understand.

I shook is hand, had him fire it up and adjusted the old weber one last time for him. The hood slammed, and in my moment of sadness, I could see the happiness in the new owners face.

I walked into the garage but not in the house, as I just had to see it roll off. The all too familiar sound of air rushing into the bags filled the air. He backed out of the driveway at full lift.

As soon as he got in the street with her, he lowered her down to ride height, about 1" off the ground where she belonged. Watching her roll off so low to the ground with her new owner, I knew that she would be in good hands.

I couldn't help but think about all the time that we have spent together. The long cold nights in the garage, the trip to the hospital, all of the pain in the ass I want to burn this damn thing to ground moments. In the end it was all worth though, as I had a mini truck that I could be proud of.

My last cruise in the Mazda was an 1100 mile trip down to Austin. I'm glad I drove it. That trip will forever have a place in my heart. The Mazda, will always have a place in my heart.

The feeling is bitter sweet though, as I now can start on my other project, my '77 Datsun 620.

Don't worry guys, I can't just leave you. I won't throw out 5 years of research on Mazdas. I'll share what I know when I can.

Keep an eye for a build thread on the Datsun...

man that is truly touching. its like watching a member of the family leave you forever. but atleast you know the trucks in good hands. you gotta be selective when you sell your pride and joy. not just anyone is worthy of it.

wow, you can really tell someone is attached to their truck when they right about it like that. Hopefully the 620 same feeling.

Reading that was awesome. Hopefully the 620 leaves you feeling the same way.

Thanks Guys. I got $3750 for it. I kept the stereo though, and it is already in my Xb...

I owned the Datsun for about a year before the Mazda. It'll be fun to build.
