miata motor swap

has anyone don the 1.6 or 1.8 swap..also hear that the kia spectra head will fit b2200 is this true?

not sure why u would want to do a 1.6 or 1.8 Miata swap.Those little motors get most of their grunt from rpm not displacement.They are cammed and geared for a very light sports car,not a relatively heavy truck.And you would need the engine,tranny and a custom driveshaft plus fuel management.A Kia swap would seem the better idea plus guys on here have done it.BJ

Ya, i'd go with the Kia FE3 swap. You don't have much to do for the swap and you get 140hp stock without work. I'll be looking into this swap once everything else is done with my truck.

just inquiring..will just a head swap from the kia work or do you have to have the whole engine..you should be able to adapt a crank sensor from msd to make it fire and run..i also am really into making it carbureted..so if all else fails i will put in a 2.3 svo motor so it is turbo..since they sell the 302 engine conversion kit they use the same motor mounts..
